The name "Metro" originates from the construction of the first underground train lines in the second half of the 19th. century in large European cities such as London ("Metropolitan"), Berlin and Paris. Even today, many of the stations are decorated with rectangular tiles with a similar shape to bricks. The glazes in this series are available in a variety of pastel colours similar to water colours.
These wall tiles are particularly attractive in kitchens with classical kichten stoves or kitchen ranges in English country-house style.
